Discover beabadoobee’s best Filipino food picks in Araneta City

With beabadoobee’s Asia Tour arriving at the New Frontier Theater on August 12 & 13, the City of Firsts is buzzing—not just with music, but with flavor. This Buwan ng Wika, we’re celebrating the Fil-Brit artist’s roots the tastiest way possible: through the Filipino food she loves.

As Bea once said in an interview, “It definitely takes a lot of time and maturing to learn to appreciate your culture.” For her, one of the ways that appreciation shows up is in the form of pancit, sinigang, turon—and more. And the good news? You can try them all right here in Araneta City, before (or after) singing your heart out to Glue Song.

    Here’s your food tour, beabadoobee-style:

    Pancit

In an interview, Bea shared that one of her top 3 favorite Filipino dishes is the ever-reliable pancit. For something with a twist, try Pancit Inulas from Tindeli. Pro tip: You can add in their rich dinuguan for an even deeper flavor hit. Just like her music, it’s familiar but fresh, comforting yet experimental. Find this at Palenque, Upper Ground B, Gateway Mall 2.

    Sinigang

Bea might be based in London, but her palate’s definitely Pinoy. Another favorite? Sinigang, and you’ll find an unforgettable bowl at B.E.L. Iloco. The crispy pork belly adds a rich contrast to the sour tamarind broth. It’s bold and layered, with crunch and kick in every spoonful—kind of like hearing a new beabadoobee track and discovering something unexpected in the bridge. Try this at Palenque, Upper Ground B, Gateway Mall 2.

    Turon

Her third fave? Turon. But in true Bea fashion, you’ve got to go for a remix. Try Sticky Sweet’s Biscoff Tikoy Turon—chewy tikoy wrapped in lumpia wrapper, fried crisp, and served with ice cream. It’s drizzled with caramel Biscoff sauce, topped with a Biscoff biscuit, and finished with delicate gold flakes. Dessert, merienda, and a mini experience all rolled into one. Order this at World Kitchens, Level 4, Gateway Mall 2.

    Adobo

Bea has shared that her dad used to make her adobo and pack it in a thermos as her baon for school. That emotional connection is infused right into every bite of Via Mare’s Chicken & Pork Adobo—a soy, vinegar, and garlic slow-cooked wonder. It’s the kind of dish that sticks with you, much like the chorus of Cologne. Find this at Upper Ground A, Gateway Mall 2.

    Halo-halo

If her debut album Beatopia were a Filipino dish, Bea said in an interview, it would be halo-halo: “Because it has loads of things in it. And it’s all really random and all really bizarre. And it’s at times [an] acquired taste, but at the end of the day, it all really tastes good together.” Try Palm Grill’s Knickerfruit Halo-halo, which blends creamy, fruity, and crunchy into one psychedelic treat at Palenque, Upper Ground B, Gateway Mall 2.

    Ube

Ube is sweet, earthy, and proudly purple—pretty on the outside, but even richer when you dig in. Sounds a lot like Bea herself. Grab a slice of Ube Cake at Caramia and enjoy a dessert that’s both classic and endlessly comforting. Get this at Upper Ground Floor, Gateway Mall 1.

Coming Home—In Food and Who You Are

Bea put it best: “It makes you different in a good way”—a reminder that embracing who you are is something to be proud of. That difference is worth celebrating this Buwan ng Wika—in your playlists, your identity, and definitely your food choices.

So before the concert starts, go on your own flavor tour around Araneta City. Take a bite of her favorite dishes and maybe, just maybe, you’ll find your own perfect pair—in music and merienda.
