Feast your senses over Shinshima teppanyaki experience
There’s no doubt as to why Filipinos fell in love with Japanese food. It tastes divine, is meticulously prepared, and is very comforting.
The good news is, that you don’t need to travel to Japan or Singapore to satisfy your tastebuds with an authentic Japanese dish. Just head out to World Kitchens, Gateway Mall 2, and check out the open kitchens offering authentic Japanese cuisine, and Shinshima is one of them.

To let Filipinos experience their exquisite teppanyaki expertise, Shinshima opened its second restaurant in World Kitchens, Gateway Mall 2, being their first branch outside Singapore.
When you enter the dining area of World Kitchens, you will be welcomed by the sizzling sound of the iron griddle, the aromaticity of meat and vegetables being stir-fried and grilled, and partying big flames, enticing everyone to dine at Shinshima and try their mouth-watering teppanyaki dishes, while getting entertained with their chefs showcasing their cooking skills.

Among the dishes that you can order are Black Pepper Pork Belly with Special Shinshima Sauce, Chicken Teriyaki, Tenderloin Steak with Special Shinshima Sauce, Tiger Prawns with Special Shinshima Sauce, Salmon with Special Shinshima Sauce, Grilled Assorted Mushrooms (Shimeji, Shiitake, and Oyster), and Premium Seafood Set (scallops, salmon, and tiger prawns).

All dishes can be ordered either in a la carte or in a meal set. Their meal set includes Chawanmushi (Japanese Steamed Egg Custard), Miso Soup, Japanese Garlic Rice, Wakame (seaweed salad), and iron-grilled mixed vegetables. Garlic chips are also served on the side to bring out the flavor of every teppanyaki dish.

For the steak, the teppanyaki open kitchen serves A4 and A5 Wagyu Beef, Tenderloin, and Striploin. Diners may choose the doneness of the meats they order (rare, medium rare, well done).
There’s no doubt, their menu will bring you to a gastronomic experience like no other. Every dish tastes like an explosion of flavors. The more you indulge in the food, the tastier it gets. I guess the Garlic Chips and the Special Shinshima Sauce added to the umami taste of every grilled dish. Their Tiger Prawns left me in awe! Apart from its overwhelming taste, the prawn shells are edible too! Shinshima grilled the Tiger Prawns until the shells became crispy and could be consumed.
Shinshima is Singapore’s first teppanyaki restaurant that was established in 1980. Since then, this luxurious restaurant has been serving traditional Japanese cuisine with a twist, using meticulously picked ingredients from Japan to curate a gastronomic menu. For them, every meal should be a celebration and an unforgettable one.
Did this make you crave a teppanyaki? Time to give in to that craving and head out to Shinshima at World Kitchens, Gateway Mall 2!
